02/26/2021

Global industry leader, Simplex, has partnered with Opera to deliver a crypto onramp solution that lets users pay fiat for crypto.

Opera is the first major browser that sports an inbuilt a crypto wallet. This Ethereum-based wallet enables transactions with cryptocurrencies and management of tokens and collectibles. The Opera Crypto Wallet works with both the desktop and mobile browser versions. However for practical reasons and security purposes, transactions are permitted in the Crypto Wallet sidebar panel in the desktop browser version, while only approval and verification are feasible on the mobile browser.

Essentially speaking you can pay with cryptocurrencies directly from your Opera's Crypto Wallet. Opera now supports online payments with cryptocurrency where merchant support exists, as well as sending money from wallet to wallet and interacting with dApps.

All the while maintaining that the keys, collectibles, and tokens in the Opera Crypto Wallet are accessible in both desktop and mobile opera browser versions.

SIMPLEX INTEGRATION

Moving ahead from just being crypto enabled, users of the Opera web browser will now be able to purchase cryptocurrencies directly within the application following a partnership with Simplex. Founded in 2014, Simplex is a European Union-licensed fintech company that provides access to over 50 cryptocurrencies and is a principal member of the Visa network.

Simplex’s technological infrastructure is used by numerous well-known cryptocurrency exchanges, such as Binance, Kucoin, OKEx and others. The firm has partnered with over 350 crypto institutions since its launch, supplying access to cryptocurrencies via debit and credit card purchases.

Security

Opera's Crypto Wallet has a high level of security and gives you full control of your funds and collectible keys. The wallet also uses Android's secure system lock, making transactions on the blockchain easier as you don't require any additional PIN codes or passwords.

A 12-word backup phrase, also known as a seed phrase, is created during wallet creation. Should you ever lose your phone or have your phone stolen, therefore preventing you from accessing your wallet, this phrase can be used to restore your assets in a new wallet.
